« Great place, shame about the agent! »

We have relatives in St. Gervais so know this fabulous town well. Due to overcrowding at Christmas (sound familiar?) we decided to rent in town this year. The agent was very helpful by email and we duly arrived during the allotted key collection period. This is where the next 2 hours of frustration and disappointment began. The agent had gone to an emergency and apart from the actual keys had left no instructions whatsoever. Her colleague did eventually give us the keys (whilst answering the telephone every 2 seconds) but this took at least 30 minutes. Any query we had was answered with a shrug and "it's not my job". I had to leave the office as her attitude was so appalling and we were getting nowhere fast. We did find the building but with no instructions we could not find the allocated garage and it took some time to find the apartment. We returned to the office to find the actual agent there. She didn't actually know which garage was allocated and we had to try all of the keys (2 floors of garages). There was someone else in the garage (same agent) because they too couldn't find the right one!!!! After a long drive from the UK, 2 hours of frustration was really not what we needed. Finally, whilst sorting out the beds it became clear that the agent did not have a clue what was available in the property; I specifically asked if there were duvets before we left the UK and was told yes. There were not and although the children managed with sleeping bags in duvet covers and bed spreads, there were only blankets for the double bed (I can't stand them when not my own). Fortunately we could borrow one from family but be warned! That said, the apartment itself was wonderfully placed in the centre of town, well equipped, decorated and cosy. It did not feel like a cold rental apartment but really felt like a family loved using it and I would recommend it to a family with children who could use bunks (so not hulking teenage boys) as the sofa bed was a bit grim. With a few hundred Euros this could be made a fantastic place.

« Appartement très agréable, très bon service de l'agence »

L'appartement était très agréable : très spacieux, bien équipé.. La seule petite chose qui manquait était un four à micro-ondes...

Pour le reste, le service de l'agence de Saint-Gervais était très bon..

Attenzione: la cartina indica il centro della località e non l'esatta posizione della struttura.
